Sequoyah Council

2017 National Jamboree

July 19 - 28, 2017

The Sequoyah Council will be taking a troop to the 2017 National Jamboree.  The troop will consist of 36 youth and 4 adult leaders.  One of the adult leaders in each troop is expected to be between 18 & 21 years of age.  We encourage interested leaders in that age range to apply.


Qualifications for Scouts:

  • Be at least First Class Scout at the time of attendance of the Jamboree
  • Have completed the sixth grade or be at least 12 years of age by July 1, 2017 and not reached his 18th birthday by August 2, 2017.
  • Participate in a mandatory pre-Jamboree training weekend.
  • Submitted a completed medical form.
  • Be approved by both his Scoutmaster and the Sequoyah Council.


The Jamboree fee is $1,450.00.  This fee includes Jamboree registration, transportation, meals, contingent t-shirt, contingent patches and all troop & patrol equipment.


There is a $250 deposit required upon confirmation of application.  The balance of the fees are paid using the following payment schedule:


Payment 1 - $250.00 by November 1, 2016

Payment 2 - $250.00 by December 1, 2016

Payment 3 - $250.00 by January 1, 2017

Payment 4 - $250.00 by February 1, 2017

Final Payment - $300.00 by March 1, 2017
